The cottage trailer Lite is a sure choice for the needs of a single-family homeowner.
Do wheelbarrows seem too small for yard work? In this blog, Ultratec entrepreneur Timo Ruokolainen tells how he, as a single-family homeowner, has made his everyday life easier with the help of the Mökkikärry Lite.
Every homeowner knows that their house and yard are never completely finished. If we think only about outdoor work, then mowing the lawn, raking leaves, planting hedges, chopping and transporting firewood, sanding and, of course, snow removal in the winter are everyday tasks for all the kings of their own yard.
Spending time outdoors with your family is a great way to spend time, especially when you have the right equipment. Ultratec's Cottage Cart Lite is designed for such moments, taking into account the needs of single-family homeowners.
The single-axle Cottage Cart Lite is light and agile to use and treats the yard delicately, as few of us dream of extra banks in a newly planted lawn. The 500-liter platform allows you to transport larger loads at once, and thanks to the removable ends, transporting longer timber is also a natural fit. The tipper is also a great feature in the cart, which makes it easier to move soil or leaves out of the cart, for example.
A basic ATV is a great companion.
In the municipality of Petäjävesi, there is a detached house owned by Timo Ruokolainen, who loves his own yard and peace, where he has lived for ten years. Timo lives with his daughter in a house surrounded by a yard measuring up to 3,000 square meters. In addition to a log cabin, the yard has a carport and a wooden shed. Next to the carport is the familiar Ultratec red, which is of course the Mökkikärry Lite!
"For yard work, I have found that basic model ATVs work very well as draft animals. It doesn't have to be too powerful or big, because the distances are not long or the loads are large. At the moment I have a Polaris tractor ATV, but I have also had an Arctic Cat ATV in the past and that also worked great for this purpose," says Timo, explaining what kind of ATV he has used in his own yard.
The Cottage Cart Lite is a trusted workhorse for single-family homeowners
Timo's latest project was the spreading of bark mulch. Together with his neighbors, an order of 15 cubic meters of bark mulch from a neighboring municipality was dumped at the border of the plots. When the truck arrived, the task was to move the mulch to the right place in his own yard. This job was also completed by dinnertime, when instead of a wheelbarrow, the mulch found its way there with the help of a Mökkikärry Lite. Timo finished the bark mulch with a thick-tine rake.
There are many things to do in the yard of a detached house. Chopping and hauling firewood, spreading mulch, planting flowers and sometimes even collecting windbreaks are some of the jobs that Timo does in his yard.
“I use the cart weekly. In the fall, for example, to rake leaves. I load the leaves into it and dump them a couple of hundred meters away to their own place. For the winter, I thought about getting a plow as an accessory so that shoveling snow and plowing the yard path would be a little more convenient in the future,” adds Timo.
When you really want to go high-fi, you can get a chainsaw stand for the cart , for easy transport of the saw. Or a screen , which is unbeatable when searching for lumber. Gas springs , on the other hand, keep the tip up. Like all other Ultratec products, the Lite cottage cart can always be customized to suit your needs, because all parts always fit together.

It's nice to be busy in the yard when you can get things done in one go.
Timo has been a happy owner of the Mökkikärry Lite for 15 years. Although the cart has been sadly stored outdoors, it has never needed any maintenance. Although the same yard work could certainly be done with more traditional tools, it is hard to imagine going back to “manual”.
“I have noticed that when the equipment is in good condition, I am more likely to go out to do yard work. It is nice when my daughter likes to join in the fun when the work is completed smoothly. The ATV and cart can also be easily transported on a passenger car trailer, so I almost always take them with me when we head to the family farm. There I drive food for the animals and construction materials around the farm,” says Timo.
